Start from the number you need, not the number the market quotes

Most freelancers pick a rate by asking what others charge, then discounting until it feels safe. That works backwards. Start with the income you actually need to live, then work out how many billable hours you truly have — it is far fewer than the hours you are awake.

Add the costs nobody mentions

Software, hardware, insurance, tax set-aside, unpaid revisions, the invoice the client pays 60 days late. A common rule is to multiply the living-cost rate by 1.4 so these stop being surprises.

Say it in one sentence

A price the client has to decode is a price they distrust. The strongest framing is flat and specific: "The website is 45,000 baht, delivered in three weeks, including two rounds of revisions." One number, one date, one boundary.

Track what you quoted versus what it cost

The gap between estimate and reality is the only honest measure of your pricing. Log every invoice against the hours it took for a month and the answer usually arrives immediately: you were not too expensive, you under-scoped.
